Elanagh Smith

My research interests focus on how nutritional, ecological, and behavioral factors contribute to differences in host-microbe interactions between captive and free-roaming wildlife. I am particularly interested in how nutrition, gut microbiomes, and environment influence nutritional diseases, fitness, and conservation efforts. My experience spans zoo- and livestock-based nutrition, neotropical field ecology, and evolutionary ecomorphology. I am currently investigating the impacts of temperature perturbation on the stability of amphibian skin microbiome.
