I am interested in the links between environmental microbial communities and human / ecosystem health. My research aims to understand how environmental microbiomes contribute to ecosystem health and ultimately, human health through provision of essential ecosystem services, including nutrient cycling, water purification, and biological barriers against pathogen invasion. Understanding these mechanisms will help identify strategies to promote beneficial microorganisms and harness their functions to enhance ecosystem quality and resilience.
